Level 1 Art Digital Full Year Programme
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms Padgett.
This course enables learners to explore art making using digital processes and skills such as Photography and Design. Learners will learn digital photography and design techniques such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
Students will go on a series of trips that are that are curriculum focused.
This course is for learners with an interest in photography, design, animation, marketing, advertising, gaming, fashion design, architecture, illustration, branding, interior design, visual communications, and other creative careers.
Some of the types of things that learners have created during this course are logo designs, comic books, magazine layouts, posters, t-shirt designs, billboards, photo exhibitions.....
This course is NCEA Achievement Standards and learners are able to get course endorsements.
This course leads to Level 2 and 3 and is University Approved.

A.S. 91912 v4 Visual Arts 1.1 - Use practice-based visual inquiry to explore an Aotearoa New Zealand Maori context and another cultural context
A.S. 91307 v2 Visual Arts 2.1 - Demonstrate an understanding of methods and ideas from established practice appropriate to photography
A.S. 91325 v2 Visual Arts 2.5 - Produce a resolved work that demonstrates control of skills appropriate to cultural conventions
Semester 2
A.S. 91913 v3 Visual Arts 1.2 - Produce resolved artwork appropriate to established art making conventions
A.S. 91305 v2 Visual Arts 2.1 - Demonstrate an understanding of methods and ideas from established practice appropriate to design
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
$25 course costs. This covers special papers required for printing and specialist stationary for design.
