Level 2 Physics
Course Description
•The course offers a total of 16 credits from 3 internal assessments and 1 external standard. We can offer 2 external standards if requested by students.
• Internal assessments are a test and a practical assessment and students are expected to use the skills learnt to plan and carry out practical work, and show safe practice for all experimental work.
•Use of models of atomic physics in describing the atomic theories.
•Seniors are expected to take responsibility for their learning, this means reading relevant chapters in the text book, and completing all class work and homework.
Course Overview
Semester 1
Two internal assessments:
1. Carry out a practical physics investigation that leads to a non-linear mathematical relationship
2. Demonstrate understanding of atomic and nuclear physics
Semester 2
One internal standard plus the external standard.
1. Demonstrate understanding of physics relevant to a selected context
2. Demonstrate understanding of mechanics
