Level 2 Art Practical
Course Description
This NCEA Level 2 course offers learners the opportunity to build on their art-making skills and extend these into their own personal body of work. Students will be selecting their own themes and subject matter. With guidance from the specialist teacher they will explore a range of artist models and media to create high quality artworks. Learners will create a folio board submission of their artworks for the external assessment that is based on their personal interests and they will participate in exhibitions throughout the year.
There is no written assessment in this course, so it is suitable for learners that enjoy practical activities and for learners with any level of literacy skills.
This course is NCEA Achievement Standards and learners are able to get course endorsements.
This course leads to Level 3 and is University Approved.
Learners will have the opportunity to be assessed in Painting, Printmaking or Sculpture. The Maximum credits for each student is 24.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
$25 covers the cost of students individual specialist art packs. This includes paints, brushes and stationary.
