Course Description
This course will enable study of Mathematics beyond secondary level. This course comprises of both Internal and External standards that contribute to the total credits. Students will be required to sit for at-least one external at the end of the year which is optional depending on the pathway. This course is a University recognized subject, contributes to Numeracy and is eligible for Course endorsement.

Semester 1
In semester 1 the following standards will be taught and assessed:
AS91587 3.15 Apply systems of simultaneous equations in solving problems 3 credits Internal
AS91574 3.2 Apply linear programming methods in solving problems 3 credits Internal
AS91581 3.9 Investigate bivariate measurement data 4 credits Internal
Semester 2
In semester 2 the following standards will be taught and assessed:
AS91582 3.10 Use statistical methods to make a formal inference 4 credits Internal
AS91580 3.8 Investigate time series data 4 credits Internal
AS91586 3.14 Apply probability distributions in solving problems 4 credits External
Recommended Prior Learning
Students should be taking or have taken Level 2 Mathematics or Statistics in order to be able to do this course. they should have atleast achieved 10 or more credits at Level 2 and have attained their Numeracy by this stage.

Walker Mathematics Workbook, Maths Exercise books, Scientific Calculator, pens, and rulers.
