Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr Hafiz.
Course includes:
Internal assessments are a test and a practical assessment and students are expected to use the skills learnt to plan and carry out practical work, and show safe practice for all experimental work.
•Use of models of atomic physics in describing the atomic theories.
•Seniors are expected to take responsibility for their learning, this means reading relevant chapters in the text book, and completing all class work and homework.
•To complete externals students are required to attend the Level 3 Physics examination at the end of the year.
•Handout, PowerPoint slides and experiments are done during this course.
Course Overview
Semester 1
Two internal standards:
1. Carry out a practical investigation to test a physics theory relating two variables in a non-linear relationship
2. Demonstrate understanding of Modern Physics
Semester 2
One internal standard:
1. Use physics knowledge to develop an informed response to a socio-scientific issue
One external standard:
1. Demonstrate understanding of mechanical systems
