Level 3 Media Studies

Students will engage in a range of New Zealand made media text(s) (films, short films, advertisements, televisions, web series, print articles) and analyse the representation of Pasifika culture and people. Students will investigate the impact that Pasifika representation has on New Zealand society. Students will produce a presentation of their discoveries.
Students will be introduced to the Documentary genre and will learn about the conventions, techniques, elements and characteristic that defines the genre. Their challenge will be to design a documentary short film following the conventions, narrative and structure of a documentary
