Level 3 Construction
Course Description
This course is designed for students intending to pursue a career in the construction industry at the end of the year. Students complete a range of practical and theory activities which will prepare them for an apprenticeship, or further training or work.
Style of learning – the course is taught through practical and learning is reinforced with booklets.
Students must be prepared to do one day work experience each week. This is organised by the school.
Course Overview
Semester 1
Unit Standards
Follow safe work place practices, and contribute to a health and safety culture in a BACTS environment.
Select use and maintain tools, equipment and machining for a stage 3 BACTS project
Measure and calculate for in a stage 3 BACTS project.
Develop and use BACTS project documentation for stage 3 BACTS project.
Semester 2
Unit Standards
Communicate and work collaboratively in a stage 3 BACTS project
Incorporate other building construction allied trades into a stage 3 BACTS project.
Demonstrate knowledge of, select and use materials for a stage 3 BACTS project
Undertake a stage 3 BACTS project.
Recommended Prior Learning
Achieved all standards in Level 2 Construction and have a Minimum 85% attendance
