Level 3 Sports Leadership
Course Description
This course follows the NCEA Level 3 guidelines. This course follows on from the learning in Levels 1 and 2. This is not a university-approved subject. This course will prepare students to take further study at MIT, UNITEC or NZIS, in the fields of personal training, coaching or leadership. Careers in the services would also be helped by taking this course.
Specific skills learned
How to successfully plan a coaching session for beginners, what does a plan need to have?
Get feedback on your performance as a coach from your peers, what do you do well, what do you need to improve?
Compare your performance to national standards in turbo touch
Learn how to prevent injuries, how to recognise injuries and how to treat sport injuries
Select appropriate weight training exercises to improve muscle groups. Demonstrate the correct technique when doing these exercises.
